Luceco has recently supplied LuxBay LED luminaires to brand news sports facilities at York University. The sports hall is located on the Heslington West Campus by St James College, Heslington Hall being the first building to open in 1963 even though plans for a university in York first appeared as early as 1617.

Installed by Priera Ltd from Sheffield, LuxBay offered a cost-effective alternative to traditionally lamped luminaires. Suitable for mounting between 4 - 10 metres, the LuxBay boasts 105 Luminaire Lumens per watt, is environmentally friendly with no warm up time to produce 100% light output and requires no maintenance over its lifetime. Variants include 100, 150 and 200 watts, all with either a wide or narrow clear lens, offering over 50,000 hours of operating life.

Mounting positions include, surface, trunking or suspended and there are options of integrated presence and daylight sensors for use with fixed output or DALI dimmable control gear as installed at York University. Integral emergency variants are also available. Attachments include flat wired guards and polycarbonate clear diffusers.

Founded on principles of excellence and opportunity, the University of York has become one of the world's leading educational establishments. Luceco were delighted to be part of the successful completion of the brand new sports facilities at York University.
