La Comer carparks lit with Luceco’s Ceres in Mexico

A true “fit and forget” success!

Luceco’s cost-effective and energy-saving LED Ceres 100W HighBay luminaire has been selected for interior car park retrofits at La Comer. Holding company La Comer operates in the retail sector in Mexico with 71 supermarkets located mainly in the Mexico City metropolitan area, serving consumers through four different store formats, La Comer, Sumesa, City Market, and Fresko.

Ceres is a compact HighBay with a range of lenses to suit many applications, the car parks at the La Comer stores used the 120° optics.  Ceres features a diecast aluminium housing for increased thermal and maximum LED chip performance, and a polycarbonate lens with 60, 90 and 120 degree light distribution options, also a racking optic with 60/90-degree light distribution.

Available in standard, emergency, dimmable and compatible with batten fit sensors, Ceres offers multiple lumen variants from 11,000 to 35,500 in a two, three or five row housing. Supplied with stirrup bracket and hook for surface or suspension mounting, Ceres has IP65 and IK10 ratings and this high performance HighBay offers up to 147 Llm/cW with a 100,000 hour maintenance free, working life.

Antonino González established the first store in Mexico City selling textiles back in 1930, opening the first commercial Mexicana supermarket in 1962. By the 1980’s the company’s expansion included the acquisition of the retail chain Sumesa and in the 1990s, a joint venture with Costco Wholesale Corporation. City Market, Alprecio and Fresko stores followed over the next few decades and today the business successfully operates under the name La Comer.

Luceco’s Ceres HighBay carpark retrofit has also been successful due to its outstanding performance, providing great light uniformity, energy cost savings and maintenance free longer life – a true “fit and forget” success!
